While Tesla electric cars are outperforming other EV’s, it has also been outperforming several gas-consuming vehicles, with the Tesla Mode Sl P100DL setting the record for fastest production car in the world.
Beyond producing speedster cars, Tesla has also been at the forefront of self-driving vehicles. Armed with an array of sensors and a more practical approach to robotics, every Tesla Model has the capability of driving itself, with its AI able to learn how to drive itself better with real-time cloud computations from other Teslas. This means that every experience on a Tesla teaches other cars in its fleet how to drive safer and more efficiently.
Aside from its pioneer work in electric motors and Artificial Intelligence in its vehicles, Tesla also invests heavily in creating technologies that disrupt current trends. The ongoing “Hyperloop” program is one of Tesla’s most ambitious projects: a transportation service that aims to connect cities via pneumatic tube travel. The Hyperloop is envisioned to be Tesla’s answer to long-distance transportation.
By employing low-pressure tubes and magnetic linear accelerators, the Hyperloop pods travel at over 700mph, which aims to cut 5-6-hour travel times into just 15-20 minutes. Tesla, Inc. hopes that, by redefining what distances we can reach in a short amount of time, society can rethink how it lives and how cities ought to be designed.
With its push for futuristic and sustainable technologies, Tesla, Inc. has also invested heavily into improving solar panel technology. To this end, Tesla has created solar panels that are 21.76% more efficient, not to mention Elon Musk’s insistence that solar panels should be aesthetically indistinguishable from regular roofs, making Tesla solar panels discreet.
One of the problems of solar power is retaining energy at night. Tesla, Inc. answered this with its Powerwall, a revolutionary battery for solar-powered homes. While still in its early stages of development, Powerwall aims to create homes that can go completely off the grid.
